Hebrews 4:16, says to “come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in our time of need.” There are days when my time of need is all the time. Days when I feel like I can’t go five minutes without needing His mercy and grace. Although these days are difficult, they drive us to the Lord. Tough days remind us that we are not able to go through this life in our own strength. We fall short, lose our temper, are a bad example, aren’t Christ-like, and the list goes on and on. In our own strength the Christian life is too hard. Death to self is not natural or easy yet it is required daily. Forgiveness is hard to give but is needed regularly. Loving others is not always what we want to do but it is necessary. So how do we do this? How do we walk in a way that pleases God and brings Him glory and honor? How do we have victory over sin? How do we have His peace in our daily life? We go to His throne of grace. It is only there that we will find what we need. At the throne of grace is Jesus, our High Priest, the one who can sympathize with our weaknesses, and who made a way for us to come to the Father. It is through Him that we can come boldly to throne of grace and receive mercy. There grace is poured out upon us to forgive our sins, heal our broken hearts, strengthen us, and meet our every need. We need God’s grace every moment of every day. Don’t let anything keep you from going to God’s throne to receive mercy and grace today.
