Jeremiah 28 – 48

As I sit and ponder this past week’s reading of Jeremiah, I realized how this portion of scripture is filled with promises of God’s faithfulness to His people.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” What a promise! Jer. 29:11 God thinks of me.

“The LORD has appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee.” Jer. 31:3 He loves me.

“For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.” Jer. 31:25 He restores me.

Just in these 3 verses we learn:

  1. God thinks of me and His thoughts are for my peace and wants to give me hope.
  2. He loves me and draws me to himself with kindness and love.
  3. He wants to restore me and give me rest.

What glorious and awesome promises these are and to think there are even more for promises written for my encouragement.

Are you discouraged and sorrowful, without hope in your circumstances, feeling desolate and alone? Know this, God is for you! (Psalm 56:9) and nothing is too hard for God.

“O Sovereign LORD! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful are. Nothing is too hard for you! Jer. 32:17
